MIXED CAP

This cap was knitted of garter stitch, camouflage pattterns, and a classical Far Isle border. Knitting the camouflage part is a trick on its own. But as soon as you are on your way, you can't wait to make another one!

JACQUARD MUTS

This cap has been knitted on 2mm needles and there are 190 stitches! This intarsia work is less stretching than knitwork in one colour, so it can easily become too small.

FOLKLORE SOCKS

I did not knit these myself. They came from an inheritance, not long ago, of a dear friend, a knitter, weaver, spinner, who once gave me her spinning wheel. She brought these socks from one of her global trips. I even do not know from which country. But they are lovely and fit very nicely. Enough reasons to count the stitches and write down the pattern to share.

BLUE DELFT TILE

This pattern is based upon a Delft blue tile in my house. It was quite a job to transfer the design to knitting stitches, because stitches are not square. So if you use simple squares, the tile will not be square, and the circle not round. THis one was knitted from rough, handspun yarn, and leftovers of blue. I knitted with three blue yarns at the same time, replacing one every now and then. This creates the painted blue effect. You can use the tile as part of an afghan, of a baby blanket, or whatever you like.

YELLOW BAG

This bag may look a bit complex, but it is made very simply of one single piece. The edge was added separately as last part. The bow, inner lining and carrying strip are made out of shining pink silk from India, a nice counterparts for the handspun amber wool, died with onion peels and aluin.

BIRDS

For standard guerilla knitting, covering a tree, I did not have enough proper yarn, and the apple tree looked pretty enough as it was. But adding a few birds, that seemed easy enough! The pattern is not too simple, you need to understand the basic setup of the construction, and how to read it. I tried to explain it as clearly as I could. But as soon as you understand it, you will knit your whole tree full of birds!
